Why is Facebook Mandatory?

In mobile app, when I click on Places to find a destination, it goes directly to Facebook and asks me to sign in. I dont like Facebook and dont want it to be mandatory on TomTom. Why did you take an app that worked flawlessly and introduced flaws? I am a charter mobile app user and am beyond furious over this change.
